This tool enables you to understand the extent to which it is mandatory to appoint a DPO to be responsible for the entity’s obligations to implement the provisions of PDPL and regulations, in accordance with the standards set by the Competent Authority, as per Article (30) of PDPL and Article (32) of Implementing Regulations of PDPL.
Requirements
Standards for the mandatory appointment of a DPO:
- If the entity provides services or products that involve large -scale processing of personal data.
- If the primary activity of the entity is processing of data that requires by nature regular monitoring of personal data subjects.
- If the primary activity of the entity is processing of sensitive personal data.
- Access the National Data Governance Platform
- Choose the guidance tool to identify whether or not the appointment of a DPO is mandatory.
- Start the assessment process by comparing the current practices of the entity to the specified criteria
- The result of the assessment shows whether it is a mandatory to appoint a DPO.
